Jon Terry

Jon Terry is a trial lawyer who specializes in medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Jon joined Rosenberg, Eisenberg and Shactman after working at another personal injury firm in the Chicago area. In his short time in personal injury law, he has already obtained more than $2,000,000 in settlements on behalf of his clients.

Jon worked for 11 years in the Cook County Public Defender’s office. He spent eight years in the Felony Trial Division at 26 and California, where he tried more than 40 felony jury trials. He also conducted dozens of evidentiary hearings involving 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment issues, and tried more than 100 misdemeanor bench trials in traffic and misdemeanor courts before joining the Felony Trial Division.

Before becoming a lawyer, Jon served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kyrgyzstan, where he taught English at a high school for two years in Naryn, a small mountain town. His time in Kyrgyzstan cemented his desire to pursue a career dedicated to helping the least fortunate among us. After his Peace Corps service and before moving to Chicago for law school, Jon spent two years in Washington, D.C., working at a nonprofit publishing house.

Jon was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada, and attended Boise State University. At Boise State, he walked onto the wrestling team, eventually earning a scholarship, and was a member of two Pac-10 Conference championship teams.

Jon lives with his wife and three kids in the Andersonville neighborhood in Chicago.
